Purple Purse
Purple Purse is an organization dedicated to helping victims of financial abuse. Every year nearly 5 million women are trapped in abusive relationships. The number one reason they can’t leave is because they are being abused financially.
Lori was a survivor whose only financial control was writing checks at the grocery store. She'd write them for $5 or $10 over the bill amount, which she'd tuck away and hide in the one place her abusive husband wouldn't think to look--a box of tampons. After two years, she had enough for a lawyer's retainer fee to file for divorce. Upon hearing her story, we knew we had something powerful that could help others in her position. Using a Lori's story we created a PR and social campaign to bring awareness to the problem and to encourage donations.
